While the Tories distract us with Brexit, look what they’re doing to the police

Good work from the Skwawkbox here.

And a good point: While the Tories distract us with Brexit, they are continuing to make cuts that harm the country and its people.

Remember the Manchester bombing. Tory cuts meant police had no prior intelligence about it and were ill-prepared to deal with a terrorist attack.

Afterwards, the Army was called in – to defend foreign embassies, the Royals and Parliament, not us.

In 2010, England and Wales had 143,737 police officers. According to the Home Office ‘Police Workforce Data’ published in July, we now have 123,142.

Che Donald, the national lead on firearms, tasers and police mental health for the Police Federation of England and Wales, looked at these numbers and translated them into a shocking graphic.

The loss in police numbers, as Che worked out, is equivalent to losing every single police officer in the twelve forces marked in red on the map.

Even more shockingly, May and Rudd plan to cut deeper – by an astonishing 60%: twelve thousand more police officers, according to London Mayor Sadiq Khan.

It has been said that their plan is to make law enforcement unworkable, so that they can privatise the Police. That way the Tories and their chums can make money.

when labour get in we can bring them all back and they can lock up all the Tory MPs and the maybot and the private companies that exploit the system. don’t all ministers have a say on privatising public services ? if not ,then they should.
