Has the Corbyn campaign made canvassing history after 1,000 canvassers knocked on 40,000 doors over the weekend?

Jeremy Corbyn seems to think so.

In his latest email, he said: “I’ve represented Islington North for over forty years, but I’ve never seen anything like this.

“Over a thousand of you came out to campaign for a more equal society, a fully-funded, fully-public NHS, a Green New Deal and an end to the genocide and occupation in Palestine – in other words, for our shared values of peace, justice and equality.

“We made history by knocking on more than 40,000 doors in the constituency.

“I can never thank you enough for your support. But we’ve still got a long way to go.”

He announced this week’s canvassing sessions in Islington North, as follows:

Tuesday June 25

Hamlet Cafe, 435 Hornsey Road, N19 4DX 🕚11am, 1pm, 3pm, 5pm* & 6:30pm

Mr Corbyn wrote: “Keep your diaries clear for constituency-wide campaigning events throughout the weekend – our last weekend of canvassing, let’s make it huge!”

He added: “With just over a week to go until the General Election … even El Gato [his cat, if you didn’t know] is out on the doorstep. 😸

“Together, let’s make history on Thursday, July 4.”
